Thrift store shopping can be really fun, though I admit, at times exhausting. More often than not, I leave a thrift store without finding anything but when I do score, I score pretty big. I enjoy thrift store shopping for both home items as well as clothing because the best part is not knowing what you might find!
Here are two of my favorite thrift store clothing pieces, as well as some thrift store shopping tips!
Summertime for me is all about fruit – fresh, or frozen, or baked, or in cocktails 😉 One of my favorite fruit is lemon. I love the tart when mixed with a little sweetness. My dream is to one day have lemon trees in my backyard. Just the sight of bright lemons make me happy!
So, when I was craving for something summery and sweet last week, I thought about lemon curd! I know the name isn’t the most appealing but lemon curd is awesome. You can use it in so many ways though I dare you to try and not eat it by the spoonful (you can’t do it). I’ve had store brought lemon curd but like in most cases, I prefer the homemade stuff. I’ve tried a few different recipes and I want to share with you my favorite so far!
When living in a small apartment, it’s sometimes hard to keep everything smelling…nice. Especially now with a puppy. My boyfriend hates the scent of Febreeze and I don’t love the idea of spraying chemicals all the time. Reed diffusers have become one of my favorite ways to freshen up the home!
Decorating reed diffusers is probably not very high on the list of most people’s home decor projects. Trust me, I know it sounds silly and unnecessary. But this is also so simple to do and it adds just a little touch of delight to something plain.
To dress up my reed diffusers, I created mini flags out of some of the sticks. A quick trip to Michael’s and an episode of Modern Family was as long as it took to do. (I always watch TV or a have a movie in the background when I do my crafting. Probably stems from my architecture studio days in college!)
