OMC A DIY Gift Bouquet

I love gift giving and gift wrapping. Pretty boxes, bags, paper, string…the works. I even have a set of drawers dedicated to that stuff (though how many of you are really surprised by that?) 😉 What’s fun to me about gift wrapping is that you get the chance mix things up a bit.

A week ago, a few friends in my building were throwing a surprise baby shower for a fellow dog mom. I bought some clothes and socks that were on the couple’s registry but realized that everything was white and grey. I wanted to dress it up a little. So I decided to do something a little different with my gift wrapping. Instead of a box or a bag, I decide to make a Baby Shower Gift Bouquet!

Flag Me Down Reed Diffusers

DIY Craft Reed Diffuser Paper Flags

When living in a small apartment, it’s sometimes hard to keep everything smelling…nice. Especially now with a puppy. My boyfriend hates the scent of Febreeze and I don’t love the idea of spraying chemicals all the time. Reed diffusers have become one of my favorite ways to freshen up the home!

Decorating reed diffusers is probably not very high on the list of most people’s home decor projects. Trust me, I know it sounds silly and unnecessary. But this is also so simple to do and it adds just a little touch of delight to something plain.

To dress up my reed diffusers, I created mini flags out of some of the sticks. A quick trip to Michael’s and an episode of Modern Family was as long as it took to do. (I always watch TV or a have a movie in the background when I do my crafting. Probably stems from my architecture studio days in college!)

A Table Revivial with Marble Contact Paper

Finished DIY Console Table Makeover

I’m sure everyone has that piece of furniture (or a few) that’s been around for awhile, is perfectly fine, but you don’t really love it. As someone who’s moved 4 times in 5 years, I wish I could say that I’ve become really good at just getting rid of furniture I dislike…but that can also get quite expensive.

So what do you do if you can’t just buy something new? Spruce up the old. My discovery of marble contact paper changed my life. Okay, maybe that’s a little dramatic but it definitely changed the life of my plain wooden console table.
